Sessions are essentially child-led giving pupils the opportunity to learn key skills and concepts in a practical and meaningful way.

Through developing a body of key knowledge and concepts, pupils will develop a sense of excitement and curiosity about living things.

Children work scientifically by observing and recording the growth and identification of a variety of plants and their survival.

Play is a vital part of every child’s life and is important for social, emotional and physical development.

SC.OUT.ED, working in partnership with Ushaw, deliver exciting & adventurous days in the amazing grounds.

A 4 day programme over a year where pupils observe and talk about changes in the weather and the seasons.

Children discover examples of some of the foods that were gathered, grown or caught and how it was prepared and cooked.

Introducing children to how people lived, survived and cooked in this period of history with hands-on demonstrations.
