The benefits
Year after year, schools across the North East and Yorkshire choose SC.OUT.ED to deliver exciting and stimulating Forest School, Beach School and other outdoor learning activities.
At SC.OUT.ED Forest School, children can run and make a noise, get their hands dirty and experience appropriate risk, which is essential for healthy child development, through activities such as supervised fire building and cooking.
Mental-health professionals acknowledge that maintaining a relationship with nature can be very helpful in supporting childrenโs emotional and mental wellbeing.
Memories associated with outdoor teaching and learning for both practitioners and children are associated with social benefits, challenge and risk, creativity and sensory engagement.
Building on individual’s motivation and positive attitude to learning, offering them opportunities to take risks, make choices and initiate learning for themselves.
Running around and climbing trees develops muscle strength, aerobic fitness, and coordination.
All of the team are Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (Enhanced DBS) checked and all activities are fully risk assessed and insured. Each team member is Paediatric First Aid Trained.

Exciting and memorable PPA cover
Pupils work in teams to discuss what we need to survive and the importance of teamwork and cooperation.
Children discover examples of some of the foods that were gathered, grown or caught and how it was prepared and cooked.
Beaches are an amazing resource and fantastic setting for a stimulating and exciting outdoor day!
Sessions are essentially child-led giving pupils the opportunity to learn key skills and concepts in a practical and meaningful way.
Archery develops patience, confidence, concentration and self-discipline.
